Easter Means Hope While Grieving Tragic Events

What’s the most tragic part about school shootings like the one in Uvalde? What is so disheartening is that it’s not the first time.  And that prompts some questions.  When does it stop? When is it going to get better?

The good news it WILL stop!  Easter guarantees it.  Jesus offers hope through all times, and we hope that today’s devotion can give you peace through tragic, troubling times!

Prayer:

Risen Savior, when tragic events are overwhelming, help me to think of you.  I ask you to listen to the cry of my heart.  I neither can nor will prescribe the time and way in which my distress might be removed.  I will wait for you to determine the when and the how of my relief.  My times are in your hands.  Strengthen my faith, and give me hope that trusts you as I process my grief.  Lift my heart to the ultimate resurrection victory you have won, and have promised to all who trust you as Savior.  You have never forsaken your children; do not forsake me now, dear Lord.  I leave all things – past, present and future – to your unmatched wisdom, love, understanding and goodness.  In you, O Lord, I put my trust; leave me not helpless, in the dust.  Amen.
