God’s Love Follows Me Forever

This Sunday is Confirmation Sunday at our church!

It is a time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.

Each student picks a confirmation verse for them to hold close to their heart for their whole life. Today’s verse, chosen by Kaylee Smith, is Psalm 23:6.

This verse shows us that when we look behind us, we see goodness and love following us as God is our Good Shepherd all the way. As we look ahead, we see Jesus, our Good Shepherd, in all his glory! We see our own tension-free existence!  We see ourselves dwelling in the house of the Lord, forever!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, you are the Good Shepherd and we are the sheep. When we stray from the fold, bring us back in your arms. When we walk through the dark valleys, comfort us with your presence. We ask that you continue to guide us to the green pastures and the quiet waters of your Word. Assure us with that knowledge that your goodness and love will follow us all the days of our lives until that day when we are brought into your house forever. Amen.
