Today we’re starting a new devotion series from the book of Jonah! If you know anything about that book, you’ve probably heard that he was swallowed by a large fish.
But the book of Jonah isn’t ALL about the fish. It’s actually not even the main point! The book of Jonah is about God’s patience and love for all sinners, as compared to Jonah’s impatience and anger, as he calls Jonah to an important, but difficult, task.
Join us as we look at Jonah 1.

Prayer: Loving Lord, there are many times in our lives when you call us to carry out difficult tasks and at times, it seems better for us to run away from them just like the prophet Jonah. Lord, give us the strength and willingness to pray with Jesus, “Not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Give us the strength to carry out our callings all the days of our lives. Sustain our faith in you through the good days and the bad with confidence, knowing that all things are under your control. Amen.
