Never An Orphan

How difficult life would be if one had to live their entire life as an orphan!

Alone. Helpless. Scared.

It must be so hard to be left to fend for yourself when there is no one there for you.

How difficult it would have been to be a disciple the night before Jesus died.  They knew they were about to be alone and not sure where to go, or what to do next.  Let’s hear what Jesus said to them to comfort them before they would see him dying on the cross.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, you comforted your disciples with the truth that you would never abandon them. And you didn’t! That is the same promise that you make to us as well. We are not alone in our fight against sin because you have already conquered sin. We are not alone as the grave stands waiting for us because you conquered death. Assure us of your love and faithfulness as we await your return to bring us to be with you forever. Comfort us with the truth that because you live, we also will live. Amen.
