Your Heart Isn’t Big Enough for Both

The story of Cain and Abel invites us to look honestly at our own hearts. Abel’s heart overflowed with love, trust, and gratitude toward God, and that was reflected in the offering he brought. Cain, however, allowed bitterness, jealousy, and envy to take root, and those feelings eventually consumed him.

This message reminds us that our hearts cannot be filled with both God’s love and the attitudes that pull us away from Him. When we focus on His grace and blessings, our hearts make room for love, joy, and generosity. But when we cling to resentment or compare ourselves to others, those things can crowd out the peace God desires for us. Each day, God invites us to examine our hearts, surrender what doesn’t belong there, and let His love shape the way we live, worship, and care for others.
