Through the season of Lent, we’ll follow Jesus to the cross, as well as to His empty tomb on Easter morning. Today we’re going to look at something that happened in the Garden of Gethsemane. Although he was deceptively betrayed, and he had every capability of attacking and winning, Jesus showed restraint. Instead of exploding or imploding, how can we do the same as we speak the truth in love during our lives?
Think about that as you listen to today’s Scripture segment from Luke 22:47-53.

PRAYER: Gracious God, you know my sin better than I do. You also were willing to pay for it in full. Send your truth straight to my soul, and help me to rejoice anew in your abundant mercy. It will always be true – though my sin is great, your mercy is more. Thank you for showing restraint, even when your life was on the line, so that I could rejoice with you in the eternal mansions of heaven. It’s in your holy, precious, saving name that I pray, Amen.
