In Luke 24:13–35 two discouraged disciples walked to Emmaus, confused by Jesus’ death, not realizing the risen Lord was with them. As He explained the Scriptures, their hearts burned with new understanding. Then their eyes were opened, they saw that God’s plan had been fulfilled all along.
What seemed like defeat at the cross was actually the path to new life. We, too, can miss Jesus in our confusion or disappointment. Yet through His Word, He opens our eyes and reminds us that He is present, and His plan is still unfolding. Like those disciples, when we truly see Him, we are changed and we can’t help but share the good news: He is alive!
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see Your work in my life and trust Your plan, even when I don’t understand. Amen.
