On that first Easter morning (John 20:1–10), the world changed forever. Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found the stone rolled away. In confusion and wonder, she ran to tell Peter and John, who hurried to see it for themselves. When they arrived, they saw the empty tomb and the linen cloths lying there, Jesus was gone. What once held sorrow and loss now held a message of victory. The grave could not keep Him locked inside. He is risen!
In that moment, everything shifted. What seemed like the end of the story was actually a brand-new beginning. Jesus had defeated sin and death, proving that nothing is more powerful than God’s love. The empty tomb is not just something that happened long ago, it is a promise for us today.
Because Jesus lives, we have hope that never fades. Because He rose, we are given new life, full of purpose, joy, and peace. Even when life feels uncertain or heavy, we can hold on to the truth that God is always working, bringing life out of death and hope out of despair.
We are Easter people! We don’t live in fear, we live in faith. We don’t stay stuck in sadness, we walk in joy. We carry the good news in our hearts and share it with the world: He is risen, and because He lives, we also will live!
