You Are… So BE!

Jesus speaks with clarity and purpose in Matthew 5:13–20, declaring the identity of His followers. He tells them they are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Salt preserves and prevents decay, reminding us that God uses His people to share Jesus and protect others from spiritual loss. Even small acts of faithfulness can have lasting impact when God works through them.

Light is not meant to be hidden. When believers live out their faith through good deeds and obedience, God’s glory is made visible to the world. Our lives point beyond ourselves and direct others to the Father. Jesus calls His people to live out who they already are, trusting that God will use their witness for His purpose and glory.

“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:13–16
