What Best Friends Look Like!

We’re going to continue with our new series of devotions that cover different events that happened to King David from the Old Testament. Today we are going to cover David and his best friend, Jonathan!

What does it mean to be a true friend? For King David, he had Jonathan. Jonathan was a true friend for David even when it had become dangerous for Jonathan to be David’s friend.

As you think of Jonathan being a good friend to David, think about Jesus being a good friend to YOU!  Jesus is selfless for us too.  What a friend we have in Jesus!

Join us as we look at 1 Samuel 20:42 and discuss this more!

And here is a prayer for today:
Lord Jesus Christ, you told the disciples that they were no longer slaves but friends (John 15:13-15). Thank you for the gift of friendship: for those people who share our joys and sorrows, in whom we confide, and through whom you console and comfort us. Strengthen these relationships as we live in the love you so freely gave to us as our greatest friend! Amen.
