Prayer: Almighty God, as I begin this period of time set aside for reflection and repentance, help me to clarify what you call sin, so that I am totally aware of my sinfulness.  Convicted of my helpless state, lead me to a complete dependency on your grace and mercy in Christ.  Help me change my sinful life, so that I may let your light shine and others will praise you for what you have done in my life.  I come before you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
